  •  Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer

    We need someone to Develop a very thorough understanding our customers and their needs:

    • Create and update procedures and work instructions while taking into consideration operator feedback, equipment, process data, and customer requirements.
    • Lead and support process improvement and cost reduction projects.
    • Oversee all new and existing reworks that are required to support fan case manufacturing.
    • Monitor and update SPC database for current production parts.
    • Work side by side with production to improve the process and successfully train operators.
    • Participate in MRB review of discrepant parts including cause and corrective actions.
    • Work with data team to develop efficient and useful reporting tools.
    • Summarize, prepare, and deliver technical presentations to engineering and management.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement while coordinating and implementing automated solutions.
    • Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of part manufacturing processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality standards.
    • Utilize: CATIA V5, Fibersim, Mastercam, Verisurf, Solid Works, Gerber and Eastman cutting tables, Assembly Guidance projection systems,
    • Generate manufacturing data reports to support immediate feedback to the operators and generation of Quality documentation.
      • Monitor production to detect and prevent process drifts.
    • Analyze manufacturing data to assess capability and determine opportunities for process improvements.
    • Identify opportunities for automation and support the development of automated processes.
    • Work closely with Quality department to efficiently communicate nonconforming production data.
    • Support the implementation of LEAN principles.
    • Create visual management standards to communicate performance.
    • Requires the ability to comply with documented standards.
    • Required to comply with all OSHA and EPA regulations related to these operations.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education and skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant technical degree.
    • 2 to 10 years of relevant experience preferred. Less experience will be considered with a master’s degree and relevant work experience.
    • Strong understanding of composite and adhesive cure cycles is preferred.
    • Comfortable with developing recipes for autoclaves and ovens.
    • Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes and tooling preferred.
    • Majority of time to be spent on the production floor working with equipment, processes, and manufacturing personnel.
    • Understanding of engineering drawings.
    • Self-starter with the ability to deal with ambiguity and work independently.
    • Requires a strict attention to detail.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with automation of manufacturing processes is preferred.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Very good project management skills.
    • Ability to quickly develop and understanding of the current master data environment (including systems, policies, processes, and procedures).
    • Understanding of LEAN manufacturing concepts and/or 6 Sigma techniques preferred.
    • Advanced Level Microsoft office skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with limited direction.
    • Knowledge of and compliance with AS9100C or ISO9001 NADCAP standards.
    • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player when required.
    • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds, approximately 10% of a standard day.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Lighting and temperature are adequate.
    • Employee must be regularly required to sit with occasional walking.

  •  Core Technician - 2nd Shift

    Description:

    Applies Core (honeycomb-like) materials to molds and mandrels to build and shape Core composites parts under the direction of a Supervisor or Lead.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

    • Use of hand tools (drill, band saw, hand saw, belt sander, datco and router) and ability to run templates through the table saw. Also able to use scales, calipers and protectors.
    • Able to machine the honeycomb core with the use of a band saw, and/or hand cut the core, in accordance with instructions to fit to a cured composite part.
    • Ability to learn and perform core potting accurately.
    • Clean and package core correctly.
    • Mixes potting and densification materials for potting.
    • Able to vacuum bag parts for further cure.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy necessary.
    • Able to read, understand, and perform written work instructions.
    • Correctly documents relevant data for material traceability purposes.
    • Communicates effectively and professionally to team members.
    • Works under the direction of a lead or supervisor.
    • May cross train to other positions in the future.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Requirements:

    • Ability to use a computer.
    • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
    • Ability to work as a team player and as an individual contributor.
    • Ability to work safely in a production environment.

     

    Conditions of Employment:

    Employee will need to pass a physical and drug screen.

    Will train on 1st shift and transfer to 2nd shift upon completion of training.

     

    Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

     

    • Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required by supervision.
    • Continuous standing
    • Occasionally exposed to chemicals.
    • Frequently lift up to 40lbs. Objects weighing over 40lbs must have assistance.
    • Dress to appropriate safety standards, may include: safety glasses, plastic gloves, lab coats and hair nets.

    • Strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination, and good manual dexterity are strongly needed to perform job correctly.
    • Ability to use your hands with precision on small items and in small spaces. Must be quick and confident with hands to meet department and individual goals.
    • Correctly documents relevant data for material traceability purposes.
    • Ability to follow work instructions to ensure parts are made per customer requirements.
    • Visual inspection of both parts and tools for damage or quality issue.
    • Ability to cross train and accept additional responsibilities, including, but not limited to compacting and vacuum bagging parts.
    • Must be dependable.

  •  Oven & Autoclave Operator - 1st Shift

    Job Description

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for properly placing bagged parts in oven or autoclave for curing process.
    • Ensure accuracy of oven/autoclave settings and operation by following proper oven/autoclave procedures and practices.
    • Read and understand work order instructions.
    • Responsible removing bagging materials from molds after parts have been cured.
    • Clean and prepare molds in preparation for re-use in layup procedures.

    We’re looking for someone who has:

    • The ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
    • The ability to exhibit a willingness to learn.
    • The ability to read and understand written and verbal work orders; follow detailed instructions; and communicate questions and suggestions to supervisor.
