About The Development Engineer Position

1st shift

Job Summary:

Responsible for researching and developing new products, technologies and processes. Duties include researching new materials and processes, developing new production capabilities, testing products and materials, and ultimately developing life-saving armor products for personal protection.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, research, test, analyze and evaluate new and modified products, processes and services to meet customer requirements
  • Develop innovative armor solutions and understand ballistic test requirements
  • Analyze, interpret and create technical specifications and drawings/models
  • Research and develop new materials and equipment
  • Research and develop potential suppliers and vendors
  • Support internal teams to transition from design concept to production
  • Develop and execute test plans
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation to customers and suppliers

Job Requirements:

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Self-starter and problem-solver, able to adapt to changing priorities
  • Analytical mindset, open-minded and ready to learn
  • Mechanical aptitude (building prototypes, mock-ups, tooling, etc. with limited direction)
  • Manufacturing knowledge/experience with composites preferred
  • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD and/or similar CAD software preferred
  • Experience working in an R&D environment preferred

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred (Mechanical, Material Science, or related field)
